Is there such a thing as an upbeat February where enthusiasm and energy levels run high and great things are accomplished with an eager attitude and an optimistic heart?
Uh...in my experience, no, no there is not.
There is me trying to fight off a bad case of the winter blahs though...I keep doing things and trying to stay positive, not without some measure of success! However, it's like everything I try to do takes twice the energy it'll take if I just wait until, oh, say, May...
Oh well...we can't operate on
full blast ALL the time, can we?
In the spirit of doing things, I went out yesterday to a record store! Actual vinyl albums, both new and used! I forgot how much fun it is to look through albums and try to pick out the ones you want the most...so much more charming than just getting them on the 'net. Some great stuff available on vinyl...it's really making a comeback!
Sadly, although the store also sells record players, the model that I am interested in was out of stock...so today I visited several other stores looking to buy an inexpensive turntable with an RCA output. The good news is that I found several! The bad news is that in EVERY case they only had the floor model available and thus I left every store I visited empty handed. Looks like I'll have to wait a few more weeks for a restock...
However, I did get 2 new albums on vinyl (bringing my grand total to 3). What albums?

The Doors - Morrison Hotel |
|
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland |
And of course there's the first vinyl album I ever bought (also the first CD I ever bought, oddly enough also purchased before I owned a CD player):
|
Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction |
Now I just gotta get me that turntable...hopefully next week!
